The National Senior Certificate (NSC) tests, sometimes known as “matriculation,” have become an annual event of great public importance. The NSC tests not only mark the end of twelve years of formal schooling, but they also serve as a barometer of the health of the education system.

The first national examination was administered in November 1996, under the newly elected democratic administration, using a largely decentralized system.

Candidates are encouraged to obtain their results statements from the school/center where they took the tests in January 2022. Candidates’ preliminary results will be posted on this website.

 

Result queries must be submitted for investigation within 30 days after the results’ dissemination.
Candidates must confirm that their names and identity numbers appear correctly on their results statement and report any necessary modifications to the Department by 30/06/2019. Details are provided below.

The results of the 2022 NSC Examination for Western Cape applicants will be accessible on this website on Friday, January 20, 2022.

The results on this website are from the 2022 National Senior Certificate exams.
The Statement of Results is accessible at the school or examination center where the candidate took the exam.
Because of technical considerations, some candidates’ results may be excluded from the results published on this page.

EXAM SCRIPT REMARK/RECHECK

A candidate may ask for remarking/re-checking of his/her examination scripts for the authorized cost. Registration in the province can be done at either the school or district office (all instructions appear on the reverse side of the Statement of Results).

Bachelor of Science A candidate must obtain, in addition to the National Senior Certificate, an achievement rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50% – 59%) or better in four (4) designated subjects to meet the minimum admission requirements for Bachelor’s Degree study at a higher education institution:

When will the results of the Matric be out?

On January 19, 2023, the Minister of Basic Education will tell everyone how they did on the final test.

The 20th of January 2023 is the date to check the Matric Results for 2022.

Read on to find out how to check the results by text message and online. You can also get the results from the schools near you. Here are some important dates to remember between January 20th and March 15th, 2023.

Early February: Checking and marking again
By the middle of March, schools and the education ministry’s website will have application forms.
Beginning in early June 2022, you can sign up for the NSC supplementary exam.
Mid-June 2022: 2022 NSC exam certificates will be picked up at schools
