Population and housing census is a process of collecting, analyzing, evaluating and publishing and disseminating demographic, economic and social data related to all persons and their settlements in a country for a specified period. The implementation of the population and housing census takes place in three main phases which are Pre-Census Period, Census Period and Post-Census Period.

 

 

 

Period Before Counting People

The pre-census period includes the preparation of the Census Management and Implementation Strategy Manual and other documentation, Demarcation of Census and Map Production Areas, Material Preparation (Questionnaires and Guidelines); Awareness, Experimental Census by 29 August 2021 one year before the Census itself; Establish census committees; holding meetings with statistical stakeholders; making purchases, making choices about the type of technology to be used, hiring investigators and supervisors, distribution of equipment; and preparing for the Census Assessment.

The census includes the main and important tasks in this census exercise.

 

Period After Counting People

Post-census period includes Processing Census Reporting, Analysis, Preliminary Results Delivery, Dissemination of Final Results, Promotion of Use of Statistics to Employees of Ministries, Departments and Government Institutions.

 

Preparations for the 2022 population and housing census began in 2018, including the allocation of census sites, the preparation of key census documents such as questionnaires, guidelines, quality control forms and conducting a pilot census.

Differences between the 2022 Census and previous Censuses: –

In the 2022 census it is expected to have new items such as;

  1. Allocate geographical areas of census at the district / local level and access to statistical information at the district / local levels as well as having permanent boundaries at those levels;
  2. Use of tablets at all stages of census mplementation with the aim of reducing costs;
  3. Additional questions that will enable access to more statistical information compared to the 2012 Census: –

  • The task of allocating census sites at the local and local level which is the basis for achieving a quality census

H. sapiens also conquered Africa and assimilated the previous human species.

Later in the Stone and Bronze Age, migrations into Tanzania included Southern Cushitic speakers who moved south from present-day Ethiopia; Eastern Cushitic people who moved into Tanzania from north of Lake Turkana between 2,000 and 4,000 years ago; and Southern Nilotes, including the Datoog, who originated from the present-day South Sudan–Ethiopia border region between 2,900 and 2,200 years ago. These migrations occurred at the same time when the Mashariki Bantu from West Africa settled in the Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika regions. They traveled over the remainder of Tanzania between 2,300 and 1,700 years ago.

German control of mainland Tanzania started in the late 19th century, when Germany established German East Africa. After World War I, British control replaced this.
