Scholarships
For Undergraduate Students
- TOPIK Scholarships for New Students
- A. TOPIK Level 3 Certificate: Scholarship for 16-20% of the Tuition Fee for the first semester.
- B. TOPIK Level 4 Certificate: Scholarship for 40-42% of the Tuition Fee for the first semester.
- C. TOPIK Level 5 Certificate: Scholarship for 80-84% of the Tuition Fee for the first semester.
- D. TOPIK Level 6 Certificate: Scholarship for 100% of the Tuition Fee for the first semester.
- Scholarships for students who complete 2 semesters of the KNU Korean Language Program(as of Nov. 10th, 2022): Scholarship for 16-20% of the Tuition Fee for the first semester.
※ However, note that it is not possible to receive this scholarship together with a TOPIK Scholarship for new students (see 1. above); you can only receive ONE scholarship. - TOPIK Scholarship for Enrolled Students: Those who do not have a TOPIK Certificate or have a TOPIK Level 3 Certificate when they enter KNU can receive a scholarship after getting a TOPIK Level 4 Certificate or higher.
- Scholarships for Academic Excellence
- A. The top 7% in GPA of all international students for each college can receive a 80-84% scholarship for the following semester.
- B. The top 8~37% in GPA of all international students for each college can receive a 16-20% scholarship for the following semester.
- Students who live in a dormitory will be exempt from dormitory room fees for the first semester.
※ Due to budget limitations, students who can enter the dormitory will be selected

Selection Period
Before the beginning of every semester (up to 4th semesters for Master and Doctoral, up to 8th semesters for Combined Master’s and Doctoral)

100% or 50% of tuition fees waived
Number of Selected Applicants
- A. New internaional students: up to 70 applicants based on 100% tuition payment
- B. Enrolled international students: up to 210 applicants based on 100% tuition payment
Qualification
- A. New Students
- A-1) Students recommended by department after the department screening by the ranking order
- A-2) Up to 70 applicants based on 100% tuition payment
- B. Enrolled Students
- B-1) International graduate students scheduled for next semester who received higher than a B0 grade in the previous semester
- B-2) Up to 210 applicants based on 100% tuition payment
* Scholarship beneficiary is selected every semester after the screening.
