Why April R350 Grant Application is Pending
Many Sassa R350 grant candidates have the status “Pending” and are confused what this implies in terms of the status of their application. Sassa has described what this entails and what occurs when you submit your application.
Although Sassa is currently processing payments of the current cycle of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant for the current month, many of its applicants still find that their application status indicates “Pending”.
This is despite the fact that it has been approved for June when they track it.
According to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), this is happening because their systems have been struggling to keep up with the surge of current applications, hence the June applications have been granted.
Sassa has also said that they are aware of and have taken note of the backlog of applications from May and April, and that they are attempting to resolve the issue through a project that they are working on.
Furthermore, Sassa has stated that R350 grant recipients will most likely receive their July payment before their May payment.
The agency also states that they want to make April payments in July and May payments in August, and that applicants should keep in mind that these R350 grant payments will not be in the form of double payments/lump sums because Sassa evaluates each month individually.
