American citizens and their families facing emergency situations such as sudden illness, destitution, arrest, crime, death, or disaster should call the Embassy at [255] (22) 229-4000, dial ‘0’ for the operator, and you will be routed to either the Consular Section or the 24-hour Duty Officer.

ELECTRONICS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON EMBASSY GROUNDS. The Embassy will no longer store any items for visitors seeking Consular Services. Visitors should leave prohibited items at home or make alternate arrangements for the items’ secure storage. dAdditionally, The U.S. Embassy in Dar Es Salaam does not provide parking facilities to members of the public seeking consular services. The Embassy strongly recommends that those seeking consular services plan to utilize public parking, arrive by taxi, or use the passenger drop-off point located in front of the consular entrance to the Embassy compound.
