Yanga, or Young Africans Sports Club, is a Tanzanian football club headquartered in Jangwani, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The term “electronic commerce” refers to the sale of electronic goods.
The club, nicknamed “Yanga” (Young Boys),[3] has won 28 league titles and a number of domestic cups, as well as competing in various CAF Champions League seasons. They have five CECAFA Club Championships to their name.
The club became associated with the anti-colonial movement. Young Africans identified with nationalists and independence fighters, inspiring the political party TANU to use yellow and green as its major colors. The club is currently in a process that will keep the club ownership 49% for investors and the remaining 51% to the club members.
The club has a long-standing rivalry with Simba, with whom they compete in the Dar es Salaam (better known as Kariakoo) derby. As one of the most famous African derbies, the rivalry was placed fifth.

Yanga Sc History
The club’s roots can be traced back to the 1910s, but the club’s officially recognized history began in 1935, when Dar es Salaam residents, who were classified as Africans by Tanganyika’s colonial administration, decided to form a football club to compete in a league dominated by “non-African” football clubs. The club’s first name is reported to be New Young. Later, it was replaced by the moniker Dar es Salaam Young Africans SC, and then by Young Africans Sports Club.
After its creation in 1935, its members squabbled over their team’s poor performance and results. In 1936, the club’s record was much worse and disappointing, prompting some of its members to split and join another team. The proponents of splitting away were Arabs who thought fit to provoke strife among the club members that led to a split. They were successful, and they created Queens F.C. with dissidents (currently Simba). The two teams, Young Africans and Simba, have been rivals ever since.
Yanga agreed to work as a consultant for La Liga in 2020.
On May 27, the club’s members voted to modify the club’s governing structure to allow for private investments from other companies.
