SASSA Grant Payment Dates For March 2023 Official Dates are Here
The body in charge of distributing social assistance has disclosed when recipients will be paid in March 2023. When traveling to receive their money, grant recipients have encountered a number of difficulties in recent months.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced the March 2023 permanent grant payments. Next week, the organization will begin delivering social subsidies to millions of disadvantaged people.
Sassa will begin delivering permanent grants to Older People on Thursday, 2 March 2023, followed by disability grants on Friday, 3 March 2023. The remaining funds will be distributed to recipients in the coming weeks.
The Sassa Grant Payment Dates For March 2023 Are Shown Here.
- Grants for the Elderly – Thursday, March 2, 2023
- Disability Grants – March 3, 2023
- Child support and other grants are due on Monday, March 6, 2023.
Grant recipients are reminded by Sassa that they are not required to collect their award on the specific payment date. Since once the award is paid, the money is available until the beneficiary chooses to receive it.
Beneficiaries can currently obtain funds in a variety of ways. Money can be collected from ATMs and retail outlets as a payment mechanism. Shoprite Checkers, U-save, Pick n Pay, and Boxer shops are among these retailers.
While grant recipients expect to receive payment on the dates specified by Sassa, many have found difficulties in accessing their funds.
The difficulties that grant recipients face were highlighted during a recent visit to the Sassa office in Bellville, Western Cape. While the office is in charge of aiding a large number of grant beneficiaries in the area, people frequently sleep outside the office overnight in the hopes of receiving assistance.
Employees at the office stated that the queue management system allows grant recipients who arrange appointments to be assisted first. As a result, many grant beneficiaries must wait for hours before receiving assistance.
Frequent loadshedding exacerbates the difficulties faced by grant recipients since Sassa has less time to assist them.
According to Sassa Western Cape, the queue management technique is intended to prevent beneficiaries from sleeping outside offices overnight. They also stated that they are in the process of acquiring inverters to alleviate the effects of load-shedding.
According to Western Cape Social Development MEC Sharna Fernandez, the fact that grant recipients camp overnight outside Sassa offices signals a problem.
They also questioned why Sassa is only now acquiring inverters, despite the fact that loadshedding has been in place for years.
This Monday, it was revealed that the South African Social Security system’s social benefits would be enhanced in the coming year. The day on which these hikes will be disclosed has been revealed.

SASSA Status Verification
There are several ways to check and collect your R350 social grant payment. Learn how to use the Moya App to check SASSA status. You can also check your SASSA status by SMS or WhatsApp on your telephone.
Bank Account Payment
Receiving payments through your bank account is probably the most convenient and fastest way to get the grant; you may also avoid queuing in person at the Post Office. The sums for each month will be deposited into the beneficiary’s bank account in accordance with the grant application. Please keep in mind that the bank account information or cellular phone number provided for payment MUST be registered in the name of the accepted applicant used in the Covid-19 R350 grant application procedure to ensure that payment reaches the intended beneficiaries.
Receipt of Payment
Those who do not have banking information can collect their grant money from Post Office branches (SAPO/Post Bank), Pick-N-Pay, or Boxer retailers. Or, you could use a Bank Mobile Money Transfer (cash send option). You will only be allowed to collect the grant money once you have received an SMS confirmation that payment has been confirmed. The SRD Grant Payment Dates for this week are listed in the table below.
What does it mean that my SASSA status is pending?
Sadly, when many customers check their SASSA status online, it only shows “pending,” and they are unable to obtain the R350. On April 1, 2023, the official SASSA issued the following message:
The new cycle of the special COVID-19 SRD award will begin in mid-April 2023.
As soon as the bank information are validated, SASSA will resume clearing outstanding payments from the previous cycle. The payments will not be made all at once, but rather month by month. A payment may be made more than once in a month, but no one will get double payments in amount. SASSA will make many payments per month until the backlog is cleared, at which point monthly payments will resume.
