Manchester City Line Up against West ham United – Full Explained

An English football club located in Manchester, Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) is a member of England’s Premier League, the highest level of English football. Manchester City was founded in 1880 as St. Mark’s (West Gorton) and changed its name to Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887.

When the team relocated from Maine Road in 1923 to the Etihad Stadium in 2003, Maine Road was still its home field. In 1894, the team wore sky blue home uniforms for the first time.  It is the fifth-most successful club in English football, having won eight League crowns, six FA Cups, eight League Cups, six FA Community Shields, and one European Cup Winners Cup.

It’s time for Manchester City to defend their Premier League crown against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday.

On the last day of the previous season, the Blues won back-to-back championships in thrilling manner. Ilkay Gundogan’s brace and Rodri’s long-range goal helped Pep Guardiola win his 11th title in England after going down 2-0 with 15 minutes left to play against Aston Villa.

As a result, Pep Guardiola’s City have now won four of the previous five Premier League titles on offer. In order to win the Premier League title for the third time in a row, City must pick themselves up and try again.

Pep Guardiola has admitted that Manchester City are interested in signing Bernardo Silva from Barcelona.

Only Aymeric Laporte will miss City’s first game of the season against West Ham due to post-season knee surgery, and the Spaniard won’t be back in the City starting lineup until September.

Seeing Ederson on the field last Saturday was a bit of a shock. As a result of the match against Liverpool, Pep Guardiola decided to put his backup goalkeeper in goal for the domestic cup tournaments. That decision will not alter this weekend. As usual, he’ll be playing in the Premier League.

In the absence of Marc Cucurella, City will be relying on Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker to start most games at left back.

In terms of center-back, John Stones’ return may provide a conundrum. Guardiola, on the other hand, is expected to put his faith in Ruben Dias and Nathan Aké to build on their preseason success and begin the season unblemished.

The midfield three is a lot less complicated than the front trio. Rodri will continue to anchor City’s midfield while Kalvin Phillips is expected to make his debut off the bench. Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva have built a strong combination in front of him, and they’ll do their best to help the front three.

Phil Foden might be an option for a change in the front three after the setback in the Community Shield. However, in his second-half cameo, he seemed to be in peak physical condition despite missing the team’s preseason trip. Riyad Mahrez will continue to start on the right side in his place, as Jack Grealish is replaced.

Of course, Erling Haaland is eager to make his Premier League debut up front.

It is expected that Manchester City’s starting line-up against West Ham would be Ederson, Walker, Dias, Aké and Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva and Foden; Haaland and Mahrez.
