Kevin Durant deal to Golden State Warriors Updates

Kevin Durant, a small forward who sought a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and is under contract for the next several seasons, has been connected to a number of NBA clubs, including the Golden State Warriors.

While the whispers have died down recently, the Dubs have found themselves in the middle of a few eye-opening articles involving potential new contract negotiations. Draymond Green wants a max contract, but the Warriors may not be able to afford it since they want to pay young players as well.

A deal for Kevin Durant from the Golden State Warriors is unlikely, but this point of view may make it worth considering.

Both Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole will be free agents at the end of the season, and both are expected to want near-max contracts.

It doesn’t appear like either player is of interest to Brooklyn, but the Dubs can’t afford to pay them both and prepare for Green’s big contract at the same time.

After the 2023-2024 season, Klay Thompson will also be a free agent. The Warriors would be able to keep the players they cherish the most if they traded for Durant, who would have a negative impact on their future.

The big-name players, on the other hand, would have to go in any deal. Trading for Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, or Jordan Poole would be a good starting point. It would put an end to the Warriors’ contract issues and put them on the fast track to winning the championship.

One might make the case that the Warriors owe Stephen Curry the right to be considered one of the league’s all-time greats. However, Golden State shouldn’t want to see Poole and Kuminga go when the Warriors can’t pay them.

To get the Nets’ attention, they must contemplate dealing for four-time NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant, who is also a two-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors.
