The Afghanistan Premier League (APL) (Pashto: ; Persian: ) is a Twenty20 cricket franchise event administered by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and conducted in the United Arab Emirates.

The inaugural edition of the event took held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from October 5 to 21, 2018, and included up to forty international players. Five teams have been chosen to play, each named after a different part of Afghanistan. The International Cricket Council (ICC) authorized preparations for the event in August 2018.

Throughout history, the region was a hub for Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and subsequently Islam due to numerous conquests and eras in both the Iranian and Indian cultural worlds.
