The Yanga, or Young Africans Sports Club, is a Tanzanian football team situated in the Jangwani neighborhood of Dar es Salaam. They have been playing at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium since 1935, when the team was founded.
The team, known by their nickname “Yanga” (Young Boys),has participated in numerous editions of the CAF Champions League and has won 28 league titles and a number of domestic cups. Five times they have been crowned CECAFA Club Champions.
During the anti-colonialist struggle, the club came to represent its ideals. The political group TANU took the colors yellow and green as symbols of the youth of Africa, who had come to be identified with nationalists and independence warriors. In the present phase of club development, investors will retain 49% ownership while members will retain 51%.
The club’s rivalry with Simba, on the other side of Dar es Salaam (also known as Kariakoo), dates back many years. According to a ranking of the most famous African derbies, this one comes in at number five.

About Mtibwa Sugar
Mtibwa Sugar Football Club is a Tanzanian football team headquartered in Turiani, Mvomero District’s northernmost town. Their home games are played at Manungu Stadium, with CCM jamhuri and Gairo also serving as home venues in the past.
Mtibwa Sugar Sports Club was created in 1988 by a group of Mtibwa Sugar Estates Ltd. employees who wanted to form a football club that will compete in district-level league competitions. The team debuted in the fourth level in 1989 and was promoted to the premier league in 1996. The league was reorganized and renamed the Premier League in 1998.
